A tamponade of the inner nose can be dispensed with in most cases by using microsurgical techniques in nasal septum surgery (nasal cartilage operations). Even immediately after surgery the patient can breathe well through the nose. During operations of the sinuses, in many cases, a "self-dissolving" geltamponade is used which no longer has to be removed.

• Less stressful process
• Significantly faster recovery
• Shortening of the duration of hospitalization to two days on average.

A good alternative to conventional nasal surgery is laser treatment.
